For 61 years, the UNA-USA Southwestern Connecticut Chapter has welcomed United Nations staff, delegates, agency representatives, and their families as honored guests for June Day — a beloved tradition celebrating international friendship in a classic New England town.

Easy Transportation from New York City

Complimentary buses will meet arriving Metro-North trains from Grand Central Terminal and transport guests to downtown Westport and event venues throughout the day.

We will meet the following trains from Grand Central :

• 8:02 AM train (arriving in Westport at 9:19 AM)

• 9:02 AM train (arriving in Westport at 10:18 AM)

• 10:02 AM train (arriving in Westport at 11:18 AM

Welcome to Westport!

Beginning at 9:30 AM, guests can check in at Jesup Green along the scenic Saugatuck River in downtown Westport.

Your morning welcome includes:

• A boxed breakfast

• A special June Day gift

• Family-friendly activities

• An international nonprofit marketplace featuring artisans and local organizations

This year, we are proud to partner with Westport Sunrise Rotary for a day filled with activities for children — including arts and crafts, a Makerspace, unique photo opportunities and the famous giant yellow duck!

A brief welcome ceremony will take place at 10:30 AM.

After that, the day is yours to explore

Soccer Match

Cheer on the UN Team as they face the Westport Knights at 11:15 AM at Saugatuck Elementary School, just a half mile from check-in.

Enjoy friendly tennis matches with local hosts from 11:30 AM – 4:00 PM at Longshore Club Park.

Golf at Longshore Golf Club

Experienced golfers are invited to enjoy one of New England’s premier public courses at Longshore Golf Course.

• Meet at the clubhouse at 12:30 PM for lunch

Earthplace Nature Tour

An optional shuttle departs Jesup Green at 11:15 AM for a special visit to Earthplace, Westport’s beloved nature center.  Guests may also drive independently.

The Great Duck Race

At 1:00 PM, join the annual Duck Race hosted by Westport Sunrise Rotary at Jesup Green.

Families can enjoy:

• Kids’ activities

• Arts and crafts

• Makerspace projects

• Duck Race festivities

Guests may also purchase a duck raffle ticket for a chance to win cash prizes — all while supporting charitable causes

NEW! Private Museum Tour

Enjoy an exclusive private tour of the USA 250th Anniversary exhibit at the Westport Museum for History & Culture at 2:00PM.  The Museum is a short walk up Main Street from Jesup Green. Guests may also drive independently.

Wakeman Town Farm

The shuttle departs Jesup Green at 2:30 PM for a guided 3:00 PM tour of Wakeman Town Farm.  Guests may also drive independently. This award-winning community farm showcases sustainability and offers children the chance to meet alpacas, goats, chickens, and more. Refreshments will be served

Compo Beach/Town Pools

Spend the afternoon at Westport’s beautiful Compo Beach.

June Day guests receive complimentary beach access and parking passes for the day — a special benefit normally unavailable to non-residents on weekends.

The beach features:

• Lifeguards

• Playground

• Snack bar

• Long Island Sound view

• Guests are also welcome at Westport’s three public pools overlooking Long Island Sound, located near the tennis courts at Longshore.

Downtown Westport

Explore charming downtown Westport, filled with boutiques, restaurants, galleries, and the town’s annual Sidewalk Sale.
